_________________________ Natuk moved like a black and white breeze through the forest. First here then there, her antics making her somewhat like the Wind for which she was nicknamed. She dodged to the left and leaped over a tree root that was gnarled and sticking up out of the ground. She continued her run enjoying the feel of the invisible air pouring through her fur. Her green orbs fluttered closed then open as she dodged to the right and circled back around the prey she was chasing. She doubled back under some brush and froze watching the panicked dear stepping back and forth and bleeting weakly. It had no idea where Natuk planned to attack from and no idea which direction to run from. She'd successfully spun it's sense of direction around.
She moved in and with a great leap her fangs sunk in to the throat of the deer and a hot wash of blood poured in to her mouth and stained her white fur. She wrestled the bleeting bucking dear to the ground and held it there as it kicked and struggled for its light. She hadn't crushed it's windpipe yet but she was getting to that, she enjoyed watching her food squirm before she enjoyed her meal. Finally she bit down and the animal gave a sickening gurgle that was equal only to the crack and hiss that came from its neck being snapped.
Slowly she released the animals throat and pawed at the doe, it's big brown eyes were staring blindly and for some reason it bothered Natuk, but only for a moment. She clawed its eyes and sat staring at her catch and waiting for her body to come down from its run high so that she could eat and drag it back to the cave for others who were hungry and had either been injured by the sharp hooves of their prey or through moronic inbred fighting that had come up due to Klo's appearance in the forest. Everyone was so quick to secure their places in the pack it made her sick to her stomach to see such an uproar over one alpha fight.
Speaking of Klo Natuk preened, her hackles rising as she gushed inwardly about the handsome new addition to their territory. Natuk licked her paw licked and dragged it along her white fur attempting to clean it, wondering how many other females had already made their moves on Klo she figured she had no chance. Her ears flickered and one of them drooped at the thought. Her tail swayed in the dirt, she really wanted Klo to be the father of her pups. It was mating season and this would make the third season she'd have missed since she'd joined the Region Forest Pack.
She arched her body and pawed the deer knowing that it was cooling as they spoke and a sigh trilled past her whiskers. She leaned down and tore in to the warm belly gnawing at the meat that was provided there. She tore a chunk of meat and gnawed it starting to chew and swallow. She could offer him the rest of this deer but she wondered if that would even work, he was so stand offish. She lay there and rest her muzzle against the warm side of the deer deep in thought. She didn't even hear the bushes rustle or feel the presence of another wolf getting closer...

[atrb=width,450,true][bg=2b4c6f][atrb=border,0,true][cs=7]I T ' S Q U I E T , quiet even for Haukur; he's used to silent atmosphere, but this... His ears swiveled backwards and forwards, frantically searching for any slightest speck of sound, but there was none except for his heavy breathing. This is unusual - he had expected the forest to be full of life. But no. His shoulders muscles bunched up, ready to loose and strike if anyone tried to attack him. Yet he kept walking. Until he came up to a stick and snapped it by accident, Haukur jumped back, his amber eyes looking around wildly then looked down. A stick... He thought with some resentment, then some curiosity. He heard a sound. Looking around he spotted another ground-laying branch, he lowered his neck and stretched his paw and push it onto the small twig, snap! Somehow this had brought relief to Haukur’s nerves, so the forest wasn’t quiet after all. In some way satisfied, he felt confidence seeping into his body. Turning his broad head side to side, he searched for more twigs, aha, there’s one! What he did next was stupid, even he knew it, but still he did it. Trotting to the nearest twig, he pushed his paw on it making it snap. Another snap, and another crack. His tail twitched with amusement at each noise. A distant scuffling and growls managed to reach the ears of the timber, it was surprising that the sounds had remained unshakable through the snapping of sticks. His head straightened up suddenly, his ears perked forwards, waiting. Waiting for more noises, but there's none. Then came blood scent.
F E A R G R I P P E D him. Haukur Kló had rarely experienced proper fear. Fear, for him, usually comes and strike then go away. But this fear was clinging to his nerves. Sucking in some air, he knew that he wasn't being himself - jumping at shadows and noises; "Get a grip on yourself," Haukur muttered to himself; "Just think about you having a nice meal tonight, just imagine it." He couldn't. He just... couldn't. He kept telling himself that he was just being silly. Unwittingly, he moved towards the place where the previous noises had made. Blood and a wolf scent wreathed around his nose. The fear had faded away into curiosity, that blood belonged not to a wolf but to a prey, deer to be specific. Haukur pushed his head into the small clearing, there was that she-wolf and a deer. She was scratching at the doe's eyes, her eyes fixed in a far-away look. Then her fur around her shoulders rose, had she detected him? Look like she hadn't. The she-wolf began to eat the deer with same distant look in her face. Haukur's stomach rumbled, then he looked up again, would this female allows me to share her catch? After all did he promised himself that he will have a nice meal tonight? He pushed himself out from fern coverings. Dipping his head at one side, trying to make her understand that he wasn't try to threaten her. He knew he might seem aggressive after challenging her alpha. And she have food. "Hey," His stomach rumbled, "... I'm hungry...?" His yellow eyes darted at the pile of meat, trying to contain his spit in his mouth. He didn't want to seen salivating over a piece of deer."Um, um... so?"
As a signal, his belly growled again.

OOC;; Just be clear; Haukur isn't crushing on Natuk yet; he's just afraid of angering her, and wanting her food ;3

Natuk lifted her bloodied muzzle from the meat in front of her, her ears rounded as she stared curiously at the wolf. She was no stranger to starvation but it had been so long since she'd heard a stomach growling the sound intrigued her and for a moment she forgot what she was supposed to be doing. Her ears twitched as he repeated himself and she snickered her lips pulling back from rows of sharp blood soaked fangs. Her muzzle and chest were drenched in red that changed the color of her white fur and made the black parts stand out. She stepped away from the half eaten meal and lay down her muzzle between her paws.
"Help yourself."
She'd learned how to share gracefully from being in this pack and watching Link, he wasn't like most alpha's he didn't barge in to eat first he would hunt, leave large meals for the pregnant wolves then hunt for the others and come back and share the meal. It was a family system, we were all his equals...until we messed up. Natuk rolled on to her side and lounged in the sunlight that spilled idly through the tops of the trees in fragmented rays of light that made her green eyes glow like spring grass fresh from the morning dew.
She was lucky, Klo had come to her, probably attracted by the sounds of the kill but still he was here and out of the clutches of the evil she-wolves that plotted to make him their mates. She huffed at the thought and her hackles rose. She moved closer to him as he hesitantly accepted the meal, she snapped at his tail playfully then circled the kill and sat her tail wagging and her ears perked. She watched him excited, waiting to be rebuffed for the snap, she had a feeling he was testy but she didn't mind. She was smitten, there would never be another wolf to catch her eye as thoroughly as he had. She lowered her muzzle.
"I am Natuk. I hope you decide to take Link's offer soon..."
Her voice dripped with sincerity, she wanted this wolf to be hers, to be in their pack. She knew what Link planned for this wolf she'd heard him talking to Pepe and a few others about it. She lowered her muzzle somewhat her ears perked, if he were to join she knew he would be Beta, much needed as the Beta was Link had yet to replace their old Beta that had died and male wolves had been jumping over their tails trying to convince him they were worthy. What Link saw in Klo Natuk saw, he was strong and brave and with a cool head on his shoulders that wasn't filled with the thoughts of an ass kisser.
He was perfect.

» Haukur Kló was still hovering around the edge of the clearing where there's a she-wolf and the kill, his stomach rumbled. His eyes narrowed, his muscles tensed as he saw the female curling her lips. If she attacks then she's going to feel his fangs. Then it struck Haukur that the wolf was scorning him and his stomach. He settled his raised hackles, the femme was backing from her food and spoke;
"Help yourself."
» Those two simple words had combined together into his favourite phrase. He glanced down and up. Really? He didn't know any wolf that would willing to give up their meal for stranger. Haukur guessed that she couldn't fit this whole deer in her stomach and didn't want the prey go to waste. He, then and unwittingly, smacked his maw and dove his muzzle into the carcass, his teeth gnashing together and ripping the flesh. Blood smeared around his muzzle, eyes and ears. And his paws sloshed in the bloody-red puddles as he scrambled around to find the tenderest meat. His blunt claws scrabbled the soft fur of the doe, frantically trying to tear it. He, then, end up using his canines. His ears twitched briefly as he heard the she-wolf huffing; his eyes shot up and saw the wolf in front of him. The instinct to protect the meat suddenly overwhelmed him - Haukur Kló trotted around the meat to have his back to the femme so she couldn't have any bit of flesh. His tail felt the sharp sensation of teeth, Haukur yelped and spun around.
"I am Natuk. I hope you decide to take Link's offer soon..."
"What are you playing around, you..." Haukur's eyes narrowed, baring his glistening white fangs, "I'm not your packmate, and you're a stranger to me yet you nip my tail. Why!"
» A growl rumbled deep in his throat, and his golden eyes flashed in the darking sky. Then he met her eyes accidently - for that to wolves having his eyes gaze into often means aggression - Haukur spotted the soft emotion. He lowered his eyes, and inclined his head to the prey. He didn't want to hurt her if she's in some soft emotion. He decided to leave her alone; Haukur lowered his head and his teeth grasped the skin of the deer. A small trail of blood and mud formed as he dragged the prey away. Dropping the doe, the timber then slumped down himself, curling his paws around the kill and began to eat it. Though his nose is in the prey, his eyes never left the she-wolf's paws. All of his muscles were ready to defend his food if the wolf began to move forwards.
...
There's something that he wanted to know...
"Why did you offer me this deer?"

Natuk had slowly curled up on the ground, her paws lay under her muzzle much like a pillow as she watched him feed. She figured he'd be more possessive than she was, after all she'd been that way before she'd learned the pack mind set from Link. Everything that was yours was the packs and vice versa, it was the way to survive, sharing. If one was hungry the pack was hungry and food would be provided, it was what Link instilled in his pack members. We were one, family, and we took care of our family.
Natuk rolled on to her side and parted her fangs in a ghoulish yawn. Finally her ear tweaked and she glanced back at Klo as he grumbled from the kill that he was so happily yet suspiciously devouring.
"Why? Because you were hungry...and because I care about you."
She was a wolf, she was also a female and she was not one to do the courting, not at all it was always the males job. But she wanted Klo somewhat badly, she wanted to be the one who healed his heart like Link had done for her. She lifted her head and sniffed the air quietly registering another pack member close by but a baring of teeth was a surety that they would not interrupt, that they would not come for the scent of food that was scattered around the clearing.
When it was clear Natuk lowered her head before turning her vivid green eyes over to Klo once more she rolled on to her stomach and belly crawled closer to him before laying her muzzle between her paws. Her ears were perked as she watched his every move with a kind and loving interest.
"Everyone back at the cave is talking about you, plus..you remind me a lot of myself before I joined this pack, before Link could teach me what kindness was. I want to take care of you Klo and if you ever need it I will always be there for you."
She slowly got up and shook out her fur before prancing over to the edge of the clearing her ears perked. The forest was teaming with life, and she figured after such a heart felt confession he would want some space from her, though she was not entirely eager to leave his side which would explain why she was hovering somewhat unsure at the edge of the clearing, hoping that he would stop her, do anything to make it so she knew he didn't want her to go.
