l i t h i u m if you think the fire's bad...
. . .
Lithium's ebony feathers relaxed as Marrow scurried back over to his side of the border, staining her silver coat with a fluid black streak. Yes, yes...that's the way it should be.
"Wait -- what were you doing so close to the border, anyhow?"
"I came with a proposition," the silver she-wolf replied, her words as guarded as her golden eyes. Now that Marrow was safely [if you could call a few pawsteps away a safe distance] on his side of the border and his ash-scented musk wasn't clogging up her nose, Lithium found that she could, in fact, sense Tinde nearby. He deserves to be punished...
o o c || Yeah, I agree...uhm, maybe Lith will become his ally because he's the only other large pack in the area, and she likes being powerful, even if it means a little intimidation help from others. :'D
. . .
you should try the ice.

♣Marrow Marrow narrowed his eyes. "A proposition?" He echoed, returning her suspicious gaze. "Go on," The wolf prompted, flicking his tail. He would let her speak for the time being, now that they were on their seperate sides of the border.
A few moments later he saw her scenting the air, and remembered hearing about Tinde. "Yes, I don't trust him," he muttered.
ooc|| sounds good.

Asa stood quickly, readying herself to launch herself once more at Marrow. Silver orbs narrowed as she saw him go after Lithium once more. She paused mid step as the Nyxient alpha returned to his side of the border, pausing before attacking once again. It seemed the fight, or rather unorganized scuffle, was over for the moment. She inwardly winced, a delayed reaction as her adrenaline began to ebb and she began to feel the pain in her hind limb. Damn alpha... It was tender, and she was sure that the male had pierced the skin.
Lifting her nose to the air as the wind blew strongly once more past them, she quickly turned her head to look in the direction in which the scent of Tinde and the unknown female had come from. Asa moved herself a couple steps away from Lithium as she faced the Nyxient alpha, making two targets rather than one. If he did decide to attack one of the them, the other would be on his back in less than a second. A more strategic approach to a possible fight. Not only did it make two targets for Marrow, but she had also, purposefully, put herself so her back was not to the two hidden wolves in the brush.
Slate blue and gray streaked feathers settled upon her back, her ears perked forward, and silver orbs guarded. Without barely a movement she shifted her weight to her right hind leg to take the pressure off of her left hind. Ignoring the pain, she remained alert to any movement from either the Nyxient male or the two in the brush.

l i t h i u m luck and intuition play the cards with spades to start.
. . .
"Well," Lithium began, choosing her words as delicately as if they were made of glass [and, in a sense, they were], "as we are the largest packs in the area, why should we squabble amongst ourselves? Why not turn our energies toward more pressing matters, such as the recent influx of timbers --" the silver she-wolf spat out the word as if it was a chunk of maggot-infested prey "-- and the bands of rouges that roam the land? In other words, why don't we forge a better path for future Archangels together?"
And so the Pa'chuua alpha concluded her semi-eloquent speech, silently hoping that Marrow would dismiss the hypocrisy of some of her statements.
. . .
and after he's been hooked up play the one that's on his heart.

♣Marrow He thought this over. Yes, at least that was one thing him and the hippocrite had in common - the hatred against the Timbers. He did want to turn his attention on other matters instead of squabbling amongst the other packs. "Allies," He said, mulling it over. It could be just another scheme, but that was a risk he was going to take. Anyway, he was no weakling - if it was, he would be ready to fight fire with fire. Still, this was intriguing. It would be best to have the other large pack on their side. "Perhaps," he agreed, licking his maw momentarily before focusing his attention on Risk, then Tinde, and finally the Pa'Chuaa packleader.

He swiftly stepped away from the provoked Archangel- he still didn't know her name, he realized- and watched her with wary, glinting eyes.
But, he replied, his smile dancing in amusement, you are...little, and you certainly are a lady, unless I am mistaken. His words were mischievious and teasing, thinly veiling cautiousness. However small her stature was, he didn't want to be attacked. But I digress. I shall refrain from greeting you such if it frustrates you so.
A ripple of night-hued feathers, and then the Archangle stepped nimbly out of the brush, taking his position near Asa and Lithium, tail flicking lazily.
A slight nod to the two, and then he pointed his maw towards the Nyxient alpha female, meaning to convey to them that he had been greeting her. He hoped they'd realize by now that where he was useless [eg. fights] he wouldn't be participating in...although that DID give the impression of a coward. An inward cringe. Knowing his alpha, he could have to pay the price for his neutrality...
It would be a great loss to refuse our offer, Tinde slipped in fluidly, sounding earnest and smiling a diplomat's face. Dark times may be approaching, and considering a treaty would be very wise. Considering a treaty would be lovely.
Your pack is powerful- flattery- but as Lithium said, together we can flourish. Together, we could become the greatest Archangel packs of all time. Sweeten the deal, sweeten the deal.

l i t h i u m i'm gonna roll the dice before you . . .
"So, what do you think, Marrow?" Lithium said silkily, giving no sign that she had heard Tinde's little add-on speech [although, admittedly, it was better than the one she had given]. "It really would be a wise choice...you and your alphess --" a sly reminder that Risk wasn't nearly as well concealed as she deemed herself to be "-- would greatly benefit from such an alliance, I'm sure."
The Pa'chuua leader's statement was quite redundant, but that didn't really matter; all Lithium was trying to point out was that the Pa'chuuans were far more observant -- and therefore intimidating -- than Marrow seemed to believe.
Lithium awaited the Nyxients' response, her silver brush of a tail swishing back and forth impatiently as she lazily reviewed possible punishments.

♣Marrow Marrow nodded, eyes narrowed. "Your pack knows more than you let on," he nodded. With a glance at Risk, he flicked his tail and agreed. "Allies for now, agreed." The bloodred wolf was glad to form alliance with the pack, which admittedly had more members and was powerful in the scheme of things. He wasn't going to put his trust in them yet however, he was no fool. Still, his face let nothing be assumed, expressionless as he settled the aggreement.

Silver orbs watched intently, glancing from Risk back to Marrow, though her main focus was on the alpha male. She did not underestimate the female, quite the contrary. Yet, the tension between the two packs seemed to be more now from the rocky start of forming an alliance rather than another fight. Asa thought of all that had been said. She was unsure of how she felt about dominating the lower lands claimed by the Timbers. Although, she could not deny that a war between the two is inevitable whether it happened in her lifetime or the next generation. She was not stupid.
Asa could respect the alpha male, yet it did not mean she trusted him. She could see the wisdom from forming an alliance between the two packs, especially given the strength and power of the male alone. Yet, she bet that he had his own agenda which would not be revealed until later on or worse when it counted most to have this pack watch their tails.
She did not glance at Tinde as he came to stand with them. Slate blue and gray streaked feathers raised slightly. In a way, it was wise for one of the pack to watch the others tails and intercede any who came to interrupt or possibly turn the tides of the fight. She wanted to be angry, yet the fight was extremely uncoordinated, so who was to blame the slender, if not frail, male for holding back. Yet, did he not say that he was talented with words and not brawn.
There was much to think about, Asa thought slightly bemused with how things had turned out. The ache from her hind leg almost diminished from the quick healing that is known among the archangels.

l i t h i u m done deal, done deal.
. . .
The ghost of a smile flickered across Lithium's features as her pack's offer was accepted. "Wonderful," she purred, her personalities changing more quickly than a circus performer in the dressing room. "Well, in that case, I bid you good day, sir. May the prey run well..."
The silver phantom retreated into the familiar mists, not bothering to summon the remainder of her pack, for she knew they would follow. Humming Tinde's sweetly sinister tune, she was enveloped by the feathery silver tendrils.
