Bloodred x Marrow Marrow pulled his maw into a snarl; this was definitely not one of his best days. Most were out hunting or otherwise, the few that remained at camp were being ... quite lazy. Truly, the times were quite boring now. Not enemies, no allies, no real chaos of any kind. Not to mention there weren't many members to the pack anyway - he wondered if instead of letting the packmembers come to him, maybe he should go looking for wolves for the Nyxient pack himself? He'd seen the loners around; he probably could coax them into joining somehow.
Padding across the blackened meadow, the wolf made for the large oak that was sadly deprived of leaves ("Not that I care, it's a stupid tree,"). Nearby, an elderly wolf that'd pretty much self-proclaimed packmember lazed in the sun ... or lack of thereof, anyway. The meadow was pretty empty, and he was really wishing for some excitement. Not to mention other things that put him in a crappy mood.
Suddenly, he was bowled over by who-knows-what. "What the heck was that for?" He growled menacingly.

l i t h i u m if there's a way to infiltrate you,
. . .
Lithium's pastel eyes flickered over the bleak, ash-stained territory that lurked on the horizon. Compared to her valley's verdant grasses and fragile mist, the Nyxient pack's austere homeland was a black stigma marring the world's tender green innocence. And, in a way, that analogy wasn't too far off the mark -- every wolf knew about how the great volcanoes had savaged the land, scorching it with their molten fire until all that remained was a diseased wasteland.
In other words, it was the perfect place for a pack of fools.
The silver Archangel padded delicately down the steep, rugged slope that led down to the Pa'chuua/Nyxient borderline, the feathery mist of her homeland clinging stubbornly to her pelt before it finally melted away in the heat of the pre-noon sun. Upon reaching level ground [if you could call the blackened, pockmarked expanse of land that she stood upon "level",] she sat down, flicking her silver brush of a tail neatly across her raven-hued paws. Then she waited.
It wasn't long before Lithium encountered who she was searching for: a member of the resident pack. Unfortunately, the meeting wasn't what you would call friendly -- the poor Archangel made the mistake of stepping too near to Lithium's invisible line, and in a flurry of ebony feathers and silver fur, the alpha lunged at the sorry beast.
"What the heck was that for?"
"Stepping over the Pa'chuaa border," Lithium snarled in reply, her feathers bristling with barely-caged fury.
. . .
sway your mind and complicate you...

Bloodred x Marrow Marrow spun to see Lithium, who was swiftly coming forth furiously. "I see - you're the alpha of pa'chuaa pack," He bared his teeth and snarled, throwing his massive build against Lithium, spine-feathers raised and trembling. He flicked an ear back, and couldn't deny that he knew the border was there all along. He turned to bite into the flesh near her spine; at least she was making it clear that boundaries were not to be crossed by enemies - unlike some losers, who tried to make alliances and in turn created chaos and treason for their pack. Licking his maw, the crimson-coloured Archangel raised himslef to his full height.

l i t h i u m hear me scream outside your window...
. . .
"I see - you're the alpha of Pa'chuaa pack."
"Your powers of deduction dazzle me," the black-feathered Archangel snapped back, her black-tipped ears flattening aggressively.
Lithium fought back a yelp as she was slammed into the charred ground by the Nyxients' hulking alpha. The gray Archangel wasn't what one would call "small", but her rather delicate, ambush-oriented frame was no match for the red-furred tank that was Marrow.
As Marrow dipped his head to snap at her spine, Lithium saw her chance. As swiftly as a minnow darting down a stream, she slipped out from under her attacker, snarling in mingled pain and fury as the other alpha's thorn-sharp fangs left ragged tears in her flesh. The damage wasn't as severe as it might've been, but it was damage nonetheless, and therefore deserved recompense -- or, at least, that was the way Lithium saw it. With another guttural snarl, she lunged at Marrow, aiming for the base of his neck.

Bloodred x Marrow Marrow turned, ducking out of the way just in time, and felt her teeth catch on his shoulder. That'll leave a mark, he thought, but nothing he couldn't handle, right? The Nyxient alpha feinted a cowardly run away, back to his side of the border, before wheeling sharply. He sped straight toward her, resorting to that. He used his massive size to his advantage, clawing into her side as he tore her to the ground.
Still, he'd heard that she wasn't too bad a fighter either. Something he watched out for; a mistake that he'd made before was making assumptions. In other words, wrong assumptions.

The landscape slowly but surely changed as they continued to walk towards the Nyxient border. The mist that seemed to permanently cling to each wolf within the Pa’chuua territory now clung desperately to their fur only to slowly dissipate with each pawfall towards the outer limits of the territory. The obscured sky soon became clear, the sun expressing its exuberant existence upon the world with its bright warm rays. The lush grass beneath Asa’s paws grew less and less abundant before disappearing altogether to be replaced by hard dirt and splotches of hard lava and even ashes.
Hearing branches break a few meters off to her right, Asa looked at Lithium and nodded as she disappeared through the bleak and bare trees to investigate. Silver orbs alert as she continued silently forward only to be rewarded with an overly aggressive pair of fighting badgers. With a sigh of exasperation, she turned and loped on an angle in the direction Lithium and Tinde had ;een walking. It was strange, the trees here were blackened with ash, and were almost bare. The land more silent because of the lack of animals the closer they got to Nyxient land. Before she had gotten far she heard threatening growls and distinct sounds of fighting. Although she did not slow, she did crouch low; silver orbs narrowed as she caught sight of the fighting pair.
Lithium was bleeding near her spine, and the large male, alpha of the Nyxient pack she had to assume, was bleeding at the shoulder. Silver orbs quickly took in the situation, noting, to her disbelief, that Tinde was nowhere in sight. Where is that fool? Why would he leave Lithium knowing they were approaching an unknown pack’s territory, especially since I had not returned yet? She questioned herself silently. She was still within the brush, as she angled herself to come out on the Nyxient alpha’s side.
Seeing Marrow lunge at Lithium, Asa’s back paws dung into the hard dirt as she pushed hard off the ground and launched herself forward. As Marrow and Lithium began to fall, and before Marrow could do much damage to Lithium, Asa’s large form shot straight at Marrow to hit him full on the side. She had made no sound, although her muzzle was bared showing a full array of sharp white teeth. A second before she hit him, her muzzle parted to rip at his shoulder.

l i t h i u m drown my will to fly.
. . .
Lithium's pastel eyes narrowed warily as Marrow dashed toward his border. I know he'll come back...but from what angle? Her question was answered a few seconds later, when the blood-red alpha u-turned and, to her fury and disbelief, began a head-on charge. He underestimates me...fool.
For the second time that day, the silver-furred wolf was ground into the ground by an enemy. And, also for the second time, she could barely keep herself from snapping at his exposed throat. You see, Lithium had a plan -- oh, she always had a plan -- but, for it to be successful, minimal bloodshed was required. Unfortunately, aforementioned scheme also involved endangering the reputation of the Pa'chuua pack.
And then it happened. Asa, right on cue [as always] exploded out of the mist, followed by...no one? Where's Tinde? Lithium wondered, a flicker of surprise -- and anger, of course; Lithium always seemed to be furious for some reason or another -- blazing in her eyes like summer lightning. Suppressing her outraged curiosity, the she-wolf leaped to her ebony paws and joined Asa's assault, snapping distractedly at Marrow's hind leg.

RISK
there’s nothing I could say to you. Soft almost clear eyes filled with nothing; no pain, love or loss scanned over the surroundings that lay in front of her. Her eyes – once bright – now dimmed, they seemed to lighten to a color even paler than they were only days ago. Her eyes just got lighter and lighter everyday and when she looked at them in puddles of water that lay at her ash covered paws they looked so much different, but she liked it a lot. She loved the way she appealed to others now – in the shade of the leafless trees and her eyes black with nothing – they liked it and so did she. Her mind was so vain sometimes and it just led her off track the thoughts that appeared in her mind were so random and off topic it was a good thing that she didn’t blurt them out to other people. But she went on, walking on and clearing her mind and her vacant eyes looked on, today – or the past week however – was very boring and she would just love to see what was going on outside, she loved to watch or participate in things and she needed to find members for the pack so then they would really get up and moving, all powerful.
Her four paws moved swiftly one after the other almost a trot leading into a run, she was headed somewhere as it looked like but wasn’t going anywhere at all, she was good at discoing the way she was going. Then her ears perked up, she’d heard a noise in the direction she was headed, the border. Her eyes narrowed in small hostile slits looked ahead she would head towards the noise and see what it was. She heard snarls hisses and grows – she was going to get the interesting part by today now wasn’t she, she was happy to be finding some fun. Her eyes now wide and anchors looked ahead she was now almost running her legs couldn’t carry her fast enough she wanted to get there now. She rasped her salmon tongue around her maw while in run and looked on, she strained her eyes to see what was in font of her, she just couldn’t make it. Just a little longer till the action, a few more steps and she’d be there. This ell be fun now wont it, a lovely scrap. Her small frame so innocent and petite moved on still not taking her to where she wanted to go. She closed her eyes as she ran she was level with the grounds blossoms – she was so small.
She reached where she wanted to go, finally. There in her eyes were three wolves – two of the opposition and one her alpha. He was bigger than the two of them together. Her serious face wasn’t there any longer. The edges of her maw curled up and you could see the distinct smile planted on her face – and it wasn’t going to vanish soon either. There was a gash in Marrow’s shoulder and she could see that it didn’t affect him much at all, should she help? Yes, she could or she could let them think that she was to small and might get hurt and they would think that she was fragile and they could take her easily, but they wouldn’t know how she could use her size so much better then they could ever think.

♣Marrow Marrow snarled once more, holding his smouldering gaze for a moment before narrowing them into slits. He dropped himself to the ground -- which, mind you, didn't make him look that small -- and darted forward to bite deeply into Asa's leg. A bit of an unconventional move, yes (for lowering oneself was often a sign of weakness in battle) but since when did he care what others thought? Something that saved your bum was better than dying with "dignity".
Not that he was going to die just because of one ickle border skirmish. The distinctly-coloured wolf grappled with the two females of the rival pack; a slight smile played on his maw momentarily -- he could smell Risk faintly, and figured she was probably watching him struggle (which, he admitted, probably was quite an amusing endeavor).

Contary to what his packmates may have thought, Tinde had been obscured and silent, standing aways from the skirmish, a faint smile playing upon his black lips. And he had not been not participating out of cowardice- he thought Lithium and Asa might have appreciated some sort of lookout. Surely they must have considered the fact that other pack members of the Nyxient pack might have been nearby, waiting to ambush the two occupied high-rankers? And honestly, he couldn't be fighting anyway, with his lanky and stick-like stature, like a weedy gentleman of sorts.
And he had been watching. He couldn't make any conclusions on the Nyxient alpha yet: only that he was very much of a fighter. If it turned fatal, Tinde would have certainly jumped in to defend, because that was his obligation, but other than that he wouldn't be risking his hide for a hasty skirmish. Lithium would have to realize that although he could be counted on in the important happenings, trivial brawls weren't his thing. The Archangel's dark feathers twitched in amusement.
Really, he himself liked treaties. They were simple and efficient, and easy to go back on when you felt like it, stabbing the opposition in the back. Clean and bloodless.
He raised his maw, catching a whiff of another on the spring draft. It was slightly familiar- he was sure he'd met the other Archangel somewhere before. And on Nyxient land. Perhaps...perhaps...he wound stealthily trhough the undergrowth, the fight between the three wolves visible between the branches. Darkly, softly, Tinde came upon his fellow voyageur, his grin creeping like white ivy across his face.
Putting pack animosity aside for the moment- he had always been strange and shifting between the loyalties, although he was tied to the Pa'chuua for now- Tinde tickled Risk's ear with a tapered maw, breathing as if to not disturb the scuffle before them:
Wonderful to meet you again, little lady. A lovely show, isn't it? ooc| SO SORRY FOR BEING LAAATE. TTATT And asdjfkl; Tinde is such a creepy, self-absorbed berk. xD

Asa watched, as if in slow motion, as Marrow lowered himself and she continued over him. Her purpose had been for Lithium to get out from under him and it had worked, for the most part.
Silver orbs widen slightly as Marrow’s teeth close upon her leg. Pain laces through her body as his fangs pierce through the skin yet she does not yelp and instead snarls as her head whips around with her jaws wide to clamp down hard around the top of his muzzle. Slate blue and gray feathers raise straight upon her back with barely controlled fury.
Through all of this, she just barely registered the scent off the breeze of an unidentifiable female and… Tinde?

♣Marrow Marrow held back a small grin, as he noticed her glance at Tinde. Yes, which pack was he really in, anyway? As Asa bit down on his muzzle, blood intertwined with his already red-hued fur, and he jumped back at Lithium in return. He wasn't going to bother with the Beta; it was probably just a ploy to get him away from his first intentions. He went for the vulnerable underbelly; one rake of his nonretractable claws would sink into the soft flesh.

RISK
there’s nothing I could say to you. Risk watched her “mate” battle, but when another joined in on the other side she got a little worried. It was three against one, so maybe she should help, but not quite yet. She walked up to the border and lay down her body and head all over the line. She curled one leg under her body and let one sprawl out and lies over the border, just to get to Lithium. She smiled her eyes gazing up at the three wolves one after another. She let her jaws open wide; her tongue lolling out to the side, the long salmon tongue pulled back up and her maws shut a nice yawn. This was a boring show she seemed to tell by her actions.
She leaned to the side her head moving to the side along with the blood, maybe there would be more action to this side. She sighed, nope there wasn’t. When is this going to get interesting? She sighed in a thought. She blinked her eyes and let them close for a moment, she let her tail sway back and fourth, she smiled. She re-opened her eyes and looked at each wolf one more time; she had a little idea that would be fun.
Then one of the wolves spoke up; it was the male. Her eyes bore up at him, her two eyes in narrow hostile slits. She let out her odd sounding snarl, it had a little of a crack in it. She cleared her thought once more, and tried again, her smile was now gone. Her feathers shot up at his words that she despised.
Wonderful to meet you again, little lady. A lovely show, isn't it?
She snarled, her legs had been bunched up at the hind part of her body. She leaped up out of her sitting position; she licked the out side of her maw and lunged out at him. She didn’t quite make it, she was too little to make a lunge that would reach him, and she rolled her eyes and stalked up to him. He had done it, she wasn’t going to take it lying down, and she was going to join in.
When she reached him she looked at her size compared to the males – she was so much smaller than he was. She smiled once again. Hah, don’t call me that. She snarled though her bared teeth. She circled around him her ears twitched and her feathers stuck high on her back. Though she was small she was going to try this she lunged out at him, she wasn’t far from him so she should be able to reach him and attempted to sink her strong jaws into his shoulder. Her attempt and her grace was strong as she attempted to reach him while in stride she hoped to sink her jaws in and leave a good mark, but she didn’t know what would happen – he was so much larger than she was. Sometimes she hated being small.

l i t h i u m maybe i'm cruel
. . .
Marrow's blunt claws scrabbled at the silver Archangel's belly, doing next to no damage as they were deflected by her thick fur. Taking advantage of her enemy's obvious weakness -- after all, lashing out with a paw would throw Marrow quite a bit off balance, would it not? -- Lithium threw herself at the crimson alpha, hoping to topple him. Yes, it was true that the Pa'chuua leader lacked brawn [and, in this unplanned skirmish, she lacked strategy as well], but it was undeniable that she was gifted at the art of improvisation.
o o c || This should probably end soon... XDD Does Marrow still want to be allies? [/weird question] :'D

♣Marrow Marrow growled as he fel off balance, backing away. A thought struck him -- after all, Lithium wasn't usually that close to the border anyway. "Wait -- what were you doing so close to the border, anyhow?" He asked. He decided to dodge attacks as he scrambled back up, until he got an answer.
ooc|| Sorry for the reallly short post; I still want them to be allies, but I'm not sure how that would work out. ??
