The mountain, smouldering and old, loomed across the meadow, casting shadows over already blackened glass. The leftover flora curled around each other and his legs as he traipsed through the dark, grim field.
What an unfriendly place...
The air was humid, hanging, heavy, obscuring his sense of smell quite annoyingly. He had no idea if these were marked lands or not- preferably they weren't, but if they were...well, a little more adventure in his life wouldn't hurt. He had been many things, after all- and trespasser had always been one of them.
Clouds rolled across the sky. There was a wet draft of wind that swept through the spindly trees of the meadow, and he thought of the irony suddenly: that in this place that reeked of death and gloom and all other sorts of hideous things, there would still be life from water. Because it was about to rain, he could feel. The very bones of this meadow seemed to tremble, waiting. And his ears and feathers were back, lazy and content.
Perhaps there were others here. He'd meet them in due time. In the moment of now, though, he was here for the show. Tinde had always wanted to know what it looked like for a dry wasteland to return to life.

Silver lilac hued paws, cold and damp hit the earth with four echoing pounds. Boom pat, boom pat. Each dominant paw would hit the ground harder each time, but it wasn’t only that of her paws pounding into the earth but her heart was almost pounding out of her chest. She’d just been out for a long run, a run that she hadn’t taken in a while. She loved to run, and she had gotten to run today, she wasn’t looming around with Marrow – which was a huge relief. She loved her runs she would run for days it was possible, but now today she had gotten her free time to run and this rain that was about to fall upon her fur was going to ruin it. She could feel the cool air and she could feel the cold damp droplets that were hued in the clouds and wind. She would probably head back soon, she didn’t want to get so wet – but she would have to go back with Marrow, maybe he was gone.
She turned her head around and that is when she stopped. Her eyes that were wide and beautiful narrow into cold hostile glare. Her maw, held closed and she took in another deep breath from her nose and then confirmed her findings by opening her maw wide and flinching when her jaw gave her a small spasm. She shut her eyes and clenched her jaws shut squeezed and then slowly opened them to take in the sent that crossed her face. There was a male somewhere soon, and he was here, she would go teach him a lesson. She opened her eyes once again but they were still in small slits. She wasn’t going to let this thing get away with out a few scratches or a bite to the ear, and she could always call out for Marrow if she wanted he had the size that most couldn’t match and she could just watched this trespasser suffer, big time.
She lightly walked around her eyes scanning over everything her ears where pointed around and swivelled around looking for any sound that could possibly be what she was looking for. She smiled her devil smile and then let her eyes shut, she let a salmon tongue loll out of her maw and rasped it around and pulled it back in. She could see the tom in front of her eyes, she pulled her legs up silently, she would see what this thing wanted, she smiled and walked out her steps so quite that no one could hear her most likely, though maybe even not possible. Her small lithe figure was small very small. And she was judged on her size, she would always be called names and things like that, but she liked the way that she was.
Her feathers sill lay flat on her spine she wasn’t scared and she just never let her feathers rise when she was around other people. She closed her eyes, and she wanted to see his reaction, she didn’t do this often. She let her feathers rise up, her eyes and ears scanning but her feathers up and relaxed, they were a light almost black color, but they had a light colourful pink tinge over her. She closed her eyes the smile still planted on her face. She walked out in the plain light a light wind whipping between each feather her ears rose and upon her head and pointed at the male.
She opened her maw – slowly this time – and spoke up. Her eyes on his she spoke up with a light and sweet voice. Who are you? She snapped, she could never really sound angry or intimidating she always sounded sweet and un-intimidating. It was just what she didn’t like it, but that was fine.
She waited for the male to speak, she would have to see what he was doing before she really did anything but he would be off the land before he knew it, even if she needed some help with it all.

Movement, to the side. He swung his head to see a small female treading towards him, hostility rolling off her in waves. Her feathers were raised, dominant and assuming. A smile flit across his lips as he realized these were, indeed, packlands. And he was, indeed, a trespasser.
Does it matter? I'm merely a lonely traveler, he replied lightly, flippantly. Here to enjoy some peace and rain. Is that not alright, little lady? For her stature was slim and small, and he realized that if it would come down to a duel, he still had some fair game- but not by much.
A drop. Another drop. And then-! The sky opened its yawning chasm of gray, letting a deluge of water roll down upon the land. The blackened grass cowered pitifully under the heavy droplets, but he- Tinde raised his maw, closing his yellow eyes briefly, the rain trickling between his feathers.
Really, you're welcome to accompany me. That maddening ghost of a smile still played on his face. It is not a crime to release pack titles for only a time and sit down with another of your brethren.
Unless... Here he sighed dramatically, turning to look her in the eyes. Don't tell me you're one of the packs that challenge strangers on sight?
Such a friendly place...
The rain poured.
